I don’t know how it happened, but it did. I bought more makeup, that I didn’t need, but wanted. So as a result, I get to share my splurge details with you.
So let’s take a look at what my makeup addiction has caused me to add to my collection
I have heard nothing but wonderful things about this eyeshadow palette. I’m so looking forward to playing around with it. I was one of the lucky ones that ordered just minutes after the launch because I knew it would be gone in no time. Although, I honestly don’t think that anyone expected it to sell out within 45 minutes. Not even Jaclyn or Linda, the co-founder of Morphe Brushes. I’m sorry if you were looking forward to getting it but were unable to. Thankfully there are more in production and you will hopefully get a chance to get your hands on it.
I have a strong hatred toward paying for shipping. I avoid it at all costs, even if it means buying more items to get to free shipping. I’d honestly just rather spend my money on product than on shipping. Maybe Amazon has spoiled me. But because of this, I added some of the Jaclyn Hill’s favorite brushes to my cart.
This cute little Tarte set was a free item from Ulta because it’s my birth month. (7/11 is my special day). I haven’t yet tried their blushes, and I hardly wear anything on my lips so I haven’t tried their lipsticks either. I’m looking forward to using these. Thanks Ulta!
And then my heart got sad. I opened it to find that it was broken!! So mad! I’ll just get it replaced, but that’s an inconvenience.
I have not actually bought any contour kits and so this is my first one. I typically just bronze, or use my Benefit Hula Bronzer to contour a bit, but I really wanted to go for the real thing. It was a tough choice between this and the Kat Von D Shade and Light Kit, but I had a 20% off coupon code for Ulta and they don’t carry Kat Von D, so Anastasia it was.
(Pictured above with the contour palette) I’ve been wanting a brush that is this size and shape for contouring, and I’ve seen this one talked about quite a bit. It should pair nicely with my new contour kit.
I ran out of my MAC Fix + spray recently, and really wanted to get something more affordable that would do the same job. I use the MAC spray for either wetting an eyeshadow brush prior to using a shimmer shade, or spraying all over the face to reduce the look of any powder I’ve used. It’s not meant to be used as a makeup setter for longer wear time because it does not contain alcohol, and won’t prolong the wear time. However, it has other great purposes. I’m hoping this product works as well.
Not much to say about it, other than I ran out of brush cleaner and needed a new one. But I did get a good deal! Japonesque was on sale for BOGO 50% off, so I snagged up the contour brush above for half price!
I don’t often use dry shampoo because I wet my hair daily in the shower. I have curly hair and use hair gel, so if I dont at least saturate it and comb through it, it just looks like I’ve rolled out of bed. I shampoo most days, but I am starting to skip it more often and just use conditioner since shampoo isn’t great for your hair.
I bought these to test out as dupes for the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer and Benefit POREfessional Primer. Those two are my favorites and I’m going to be very excited if I have found affordable dupes for these. I will be testing them out and posting about my results, so be on the lookout for that soon.
That concludes my most recent binge spend on beauty items. I can’t wait to use everything! Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts on them?
